Gran Turismo 6 in Development

The overly long wait for Gran Turismo 5 hasn't stopped developer Polyphony Digital from working on the next title.

Speaking to Autoweek, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed development of a sixth title in the racing franchise is underway. When asked about a release window for the game, Kazunori was reluctant to give any further details.

"It's not something that we can talk that lightly on," he said. "It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It's just too early to be talking about GT6."

As for the latest on Gran Turismo 5, Kazunori recently told autoblog Jalopnik that game discs are currently being pressed, suggesting a release of the game is coming before the end of this year. Sony wouldn't confirmed details to us when asked, however. but said we'll get launch details soon.

On Sony's official online store, a release date of November 30 for GT5 was posted, but Sony says the date is simply a placeholder.

Call of Duty: Black Ops single player Campaign Trailer released

Activision doesn't want Electronic Arts stealing all the ink. On the day EA is set to launch its anticipated Medal of Honor reboot, its arch nemesis has released a brief diversion: the explosion-filled campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

It may take place during the Cold War, but as you'll see in this trailer, Black Ops gets hot fast, turning the action up to 11. You'll play as an operative without boundaries and above the law. And don't worry if you get caught wreaking havoc, because you don't exist.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to ship for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Windows PCs on November 9.

Now, i bet a lot of you guys are going to buy this one. Whats your opinion on CoD's campagn? Are you even gonna play it or jump right into the multiplayer action?

Warcraft 4 announcement at Blizzcon 2010?

As you guys might have heard, Blizzcon 2010 is going to take place in a few weeks – October 22-23.
And every time Blizzard is celebrating it’s great franchises – Warcraft, World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo – together with the fans attending, rumors come up which great announcement Blizzard is going to make.
This year vgtribune.com is arguing that Warcraft 4 might be announced this year during the opening ceremony.
According to a “fairly trusted source”, vgtribune reports that Warcraft 4 is under development and lists what the newest sequel to Blizzards successful rts-series shall feature:
  • Episodic campaign was considering – no word on what they decided.
  • Thrall is “currently” in it.
  • The game is planned “tentatively” for a Q4 2012 release.
  • Its an RTS based on the Starcraft II engine.
  • Its being considered for multiple platforms like the 360 and PS3, but DS has actually been started on.
  • It now finally has a team working on it since Starcraft is out.
  • Its still very early stages and the concept art looks “beautiful”.
The problem about such news is that a “fairly trusted source” is mostly everything but trustworthy. And as this is right now the only  news about Warcraft 4, there are good chances that this rumor will not be proven as true.

Call of Duty: Black Ops on Pace to Top Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set the pre-order bar, selling nearly 3 million copies before it was released in November 2009 -- in North America alone. The title then went on to become one of the most popular games of all time, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. Now, according to data from retailer GameStop, Call of Duty: Black Ops could be poised to top its predecessor.

In an interview with Gamasutra, GameStop merchandising head honcho Bob McKenzie reports that pre-orders for CoD: Black Ops are outpacing its record-setting predecessor.

"GameStop is tracking to all-time, record reservations on Call of Duty: Black Ops," McKenzie told Gamasutra, without revealing specific numbers. "We are ahead of where we were with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year, which previously set the industry standard."

VG Chartz, which tracks retail pre-orders in the Americas, currently has Black Ops at 1.5 million copies sold, and we've still got a month to go before the game is released.

Nintendo celebrates Mario's b-day with special edition Wii

Not content with simply releasing a new version of the DSi, Nintendo is offering a new version of the Wii in Japan, which comes bundled with a special edition of the original Super Mario Bros.
In honor of the 25 year-old game, the red console will be released with a slightly modified version of the classic platformer. While the console’s official website is vague on details, it does host several screenshots showing that the traditional question mark adorning item boxes has been replaced with the number 25.

The console goes on sale November 11 for 20,000 yen (about $200) and will include the new Wiimote plus.
